Sara Marsh

A qualified information professional, Sara has worked in UK Higher Education for over 25 years.  She was Director of Learner Support Services at the University of Bradford from 2007 to 2013, then Director of   Information Services until 2015.  She led the strategic development of Library and IT Services at Bradford, with a strong focus on integration with other student support teams including Counselling, Careers and Disability Services.  Previously Sara was Deputy Director of Library and Information Services at Swansea University (1996 – 2007).

Sara chaired the Executive Board of SCONUL (Society of College, National and University Libraries) from 2012 – 2014, and in this capacity worked in partnership with other sector bodies including RLUK, UCISA and Jisc.

Now freelance, Sara has undertaken mentoring and project support assignments for the University of Wolverhampton, and has developed a mentoring scheme for SCONUL.  Sara has participated as a role model in the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education’s Aurora programme for women leaders in HE, and she is a reviewer for the journal Information and Learning Science.  She has recently worked with Sero HE on a project for Jisc relating to the acquisition of Digital Archival Collections.
