The aim was to establish a roadmap for repositories across three universities (Leeds, Sheffield and York) with a five year planning horizon. The brief was to evaluate both the joint open access repository – the White Rose Research Online (WRRO) – and the shared electronic thesis repository – the White Rose Etheses Online (WREO) – and their relationship with the three universities’ digital library and digital asset management infrastructures. The roadmap needed to take into account national and international developments in this area, including the work commissioned on behalf of Jisc and the UK Research Councils to develop a robust repository infrastructure for the future in order to support the new Research Outcomes System.
Benefits:
- Modernising institutional approaches to research resources in the context of Open Access
- Manage digital research resources efficiently
- Review opportunities for shared efficiencies
